Fine Chinese Art, Chinese Antiquities in New York City

Straw glazed wide mouth stemmed cup with partially unglazed reddish foot rim.  Sui Dynasty (AD581-618).  D. 3.6 in (9 cm), H. 3 in (7.6 cm).

 

Miniature pitcher with lid, Qingbai ware with translucent bluish tinge glaze.  Jiangxi,  Southern Song (AD1127-1279).  H. 4.75 in (12cm), D. 4.37 in (11.1 cm).


 

Miniature Qingbai cover jar in the shape of a pine cone.  Song Dynasty (AD960 - 1279)  H. 2.75 in (7 cm), D. 3 in (7.6 cm).


 

A small Henan stoneware jar, water pot, in the shape of a lotus bud with a shiny black glaze with subtle brown splashes delineating concentric rings of very fine vertical russet markings.  Jin Dynasty (AD1127-1279).  H. 3 in (7.6 cm), D. 3.5 in (8.9 cm).


 

Celadon Pigsty.  Round corral fencing  a standing pig eating from a rectangular basin.  Funerary object probably from the Yangtze Delta. Jin Dynasty (AD265-420).  D. 4.75 in (12.06 cm), H. 2.5 in (6.35 cm).

Large tri-colored (sancai) glaze dish with unusual floral design.  Liao Dynasty (AD907-1125)  D.11.75 in (29.8 cm), H. 3 in (7.6 cm).  Oxford T.L. tested.

Deep bowl with flaring lip.  The green color  glaze drips almost to the base leaving an unglazed flat foot.  Tang Dynasty (AD618-907).  D. 7.37 in (18.7 cm). Sold


 

Marble ware shallow dish in dark on light brown clay throughout an unglazed body.  Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 907).  D. 5.87 in (14.90 cm), H. 1.25 in (3.17 cm).

Rounded shaped amphora tapering to the base.  Two handles end as dragon heads biting the upper rim of the sleek neck.   The cream color glaze drips over half the body leaving an unglazed foot.   Tang Dynasty (AD618-907).  D. 7.37 in (18.7 cm). Sold


 

Rare ovoid ewer tapering at the base with an upper spout on the side.  The creamy white glaze covers most of the entire body leaving the foot unglazed.  Tang Dynasty (AD618-907).  H. 14.25 in (36.2 cm).  Height of spout.  .87 in (2.2 cm).
