Han Dynasty Pottery Jars with Hill Covers

Pair of storage vessels with hill-covers.  Painted with an intricate scene of a hunter holding a crossbow and arrow after two hares in one jar and a deer and hare on the other.  The painting all around the vessel sets among a lavender, orange and white swirling landscape with a hill cover representing mountains covered with white clouds.  Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220)  H. 18 in (46 cm)
